Regarding the number of domestic crimes committed by foreigners, there was a 69.8% increase in 2011 from 19,859 in 2008. Thenumber reached 28,120 in 2012 which, compared to 2008 level, was quite a modest increase- 41.6%. But the undeniable fact is that the number of such crimes, however, is on the rise. This study will analyze the status of the arrivals and departures of foreigners and the status of international crimes,based on yearly crime analysis reported by Supreme Prosecutors, crime whitepaper on crime published by Institute of Justice, statistics and data distributed by Korea Immigration Service and media resources. This study,especially, examines how the increase of foreigners’ number in arrivals and departures can affect and change international crimes, resting on Routine Activity Theory.
