Along with the positive aspects to immigration, there are innate contradictions to immigration policies. For instance, some immigrants build their own communities detached from mainstream society after failing to adopt themselves to Korean society and cause societal strains by engaging in activities that are not compliant with social norms. This study will focus on deviations and, in particular, criminal offences that violated domestic criminal laws and resulted from social maladjustment, rather than the positive aspects of immigration. The measures to readjusting themselves to society will also be discussed.
