This issue brief aims to introduce Korea’s new immigrant survey, entitled Survey on Immigrants’ Living Conditions and Labour Force. Before the launch of this survey in 2007, there was no single survey which targets all immigrants including those having acquired Korean citizenship. Due to the lack of appropriate data, it was difficult to examine the level of integration of immigrants in Korea and compare it with other countries’. This new survey is the most comprehensive survey of all officially approved immigrant surveys in Korea. It provides scholars outside of Korea with most reliable data regarding immigrants in Korea.
